Unlike traditional shampoos, sulfate-free formulas produce a softer, creamier lather because they use gentler cleansing ingredients. This does not mean they clean less effectively—it simply requires a slightly different washing technique. Thoroughly wet your hair with warm water for at least one minute before applying shampoo. Dispense a small amount into your hands, rub between your palms, and apply mainly to the scalp rather than the hair lengths. Massage the scalp gently with your fingertips for 1–2 minutes to dissolve oil, sweat and product buildup. Add a little more water while massaging to activate a richer lather. Rinse thoroughly. If your hair is heavily soiled, oily, or contains styling products, shampoo a second time. The second wash will create more foam and provide a deeper cleanse.
